Pieces by Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti have sold at a New York City auction of impressionist and modern art.

The 1971 Picasso painting "Woman with Hat" was consigned by film director Julian Schnabel to help finance a real estate project. It shows a female figure with a face reminiscent of the artist. It sold Wednesday night for $7.7 million, Charmed 1-8, The Tudors dvd series, just below its pre-sale estimate.
A Giacometti sculpture from the estate of Caral Gimbel Lebworth of Gimbels department store fame also sold for $7.7 million, Pocoyo collection, The Sopranos complete seasons, Poko dvd series, Courage the Cowardly Dog dvd set, Alias dvd box set, Doctor Who box set, Courage the Cowardly Dog on dvd, The Tudors boxset, Courage the Cowardly Dog on dvd, Pocoyo dvd box set, above its pre-sale estimate. The bronze "Bust of Diego" features the artist's brother.
The uncertain economic climate has softened parts of the art auction market. But the Christie's auction house says Wednesday's sale shows collectors remain hungry for high-quality works that are finely presented.

Michael Jackson's youngest brother says his family is disappointed in a recent ruling allowing a doctor charged in the pop singer's death to keep his medical license, Doctor Who dvd, Charmed box set, Pocoyo box set, Pocoyo dvd set, but they have faith in the judicial process.


Randy Jackson released a statement Monday, Cow and Chicken dvd box set, a week after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled he didn't have the authority to suspend the license of Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray faces an involuntary manslaughter charge in Jackson's death nearly a year ago.
Randy Jackson had to be hospitalized after experiencing chest pains the day after last week's court hearing, and he thanked doctors and fans for their support.
His statement says he is feeling "much better, invigorated and spiritually strong, Charmed complete box set, Cow and Chicken complete series, Alias box set, Poko boxset, Pocoyo collection, Courage the Cowardly Dog boxset, Poko complete seasons," but does not address what happened to him.
