advice on running a Poker Run? Empty advice on running a Poker Run?

Poker runs are usually put together for a charity or some time of cause. Alot of people have them for the families of fellow fallen riders ( riders killed in an accident). My mom works for hospice and they have a run everyear to raise money. A price per rider usually runs 10-20 dollars for drivers, and about 5 dollars for people on back. The money goes to the charity/cause, but they usually also have a raffle, 50/50 drawing, and other cool things. The best way to advertise these is put up flyers in your local motorcycle shops, Harley Davidson Stores, ect. If you walk in and tell them you want to post a poker run they are always for it.

But before all this, you need to map out a route, and find the bar stops you want this to go. Call these bars, and let them know you will be attending, and ask them about setting out food/sandwiches for you. They usually agree because you are about to bring 20-50, sometimes more, patrons into their establishment. Not all them agree, but you'll be suprised. Once everything is final, you need to type up a small paper with the given route on it, and hand these out to the riders incase people get split up.

Then there is the poker part. This is also prize money. You have five stops, consisting of the starting/meeting point, 3 stops, then your final destination back home. Everyone draws a card at each location. Best hand and Worst hands usually win. You decide the given prize. It can also be done with dice as well. Everyone rolls 2-5 dice each stop. Highest total, and lowest total wins.
