How to Clean a Apple Laptop Keyboard Safely

Just like the keyboard on a desktop Apple computer, a Apple laptop keyboard requires a regular cleaning. Since the keyboard is built into the laptop device and cannot simply be unplugged as can a desktop keyboard, you must slightly alter the cleaning routine to ensure that you get all dirt and buildup off of the laptop keyboard, while also keeping the laptop itself safe from damage. A few cleaning items will allow you to safely clean the Apple laptop keyboard.

Turn off the laptop, keep it open and gently turn it upside down.

Agitate the Apple Laptop keyboard gently to shake loose dirt out of the keyboard.

Turn the laptop right side up. Hold a can of compressed air about 6 inches above the keyboard, and blow air between the keys. This allows you to get out hard-to-reach debris.

Soak a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol, and squeeze out excess alcohol with your fingertips.

Rub the cotton swab between all of the laptop keys, and over the keys as well.
