Family Guy targeted by Venezuela

The Venezuelan government announced today it will fine networks that continue to air the Family Guy dvd box set TV series, the Associated Press reports.

“Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami says the program should be pulled from the airwaves because it promotes the use of marijuana,” AP reports. “El Aissami was outraged by a recent episode in which the show's characters started a campaign to legalize marijuana.”

Aired in the United States by the Fox Network, the animated comedy program is about the dysfunctional Griffin family and the variety of ways they try to cope with everyday life.
