Star Trek Sideburns-A Thing of the Past?

In the new Star Trek film, there were only a few actors that had them. Karl Urban was one and Spock was the other. There were none on Kirk, Sulu, or Chekov. I didn't notice if Scotty had them. But Captain Pike definately didn't. Do you have them? Does it get you any attention or comments, any private nods by other Star Trek fans?
