'Cold Case" and "Without a Trace" could be goners.

Then again, maybe not.
CBS is thinking of axing both 'Cold Case' and "Without a Trace" because they're too expensive to produce, and has informed both shows' producers the end could come in May, according to a published report.
Warner Bros., which produces both shows, is looking for ways to trim the fat - including freezing or cutting the casts' salaries - in an effort to save both 'Cold Case' and "Without a Trace", according to ew.com.
CBS has frozen salaries at most of its other procedural dramas.
Both 'Cold Case' (Kathryn Morris) and "Without a Trace" (Anthony LaPaglia, Poppy Montgomery) are very expensive to produce, and aren't bringing in the big numbers compared to CBS' other procedural dramas, the "CSI" franchise.
"Without a Trace" is in its seventh season; 'Cold Case' ; which premiered in 2003, is in its sixth season.
Most of the networks will announce their fall schedules at the annual "upfront" presentation to advertisers in May.
