Heroes: What becomes of Brody?

I am curious why they keep Brody alive (beside to deflect possible allegation that Heroes condone killing as acceptable Heroes traits). Not only that, they transformed him into another person. I am sure this will bring some consequences.
First, we will see NotBrody on future episodes.
Second, his 'draining' might has caused some physiological metamorphone on him. It might has 'awaken' his 'Heroes' gene. He might turn into good hero or bad hero, or will be transported to the past and become Sylar!!! And will other Heroes help him?
I know this proposition sounds silly, and I hope it would come to be. I would prefer Sylar to be an alter-ego of Peter as a consequence of mixing powers simultaneously (Nathan's, Niki, Hiro).
