Ben Thatcher has not been offered a new contract as he is training with Ipswich Town and will be playing for the team on monday night fitting into the Left Back slot.

agreed plus Basey may be on the Left Wing next season so that means him and Youga will overlap with each changing whos up feild or defending.

Your better off without him, i can't believe you kept him on in the first place. He was a good player once upon a time. But I still think you should have had a total clear out alla west ham when you went down. And to a large degree I think you should still and this is a step towards the future seemingly grudgingly.

Yeah, I think it was a good decision to release him. He's getting on a bit now, he has poor discipline, and the two youngsters (Basey & Youga) are better than him anyway.
