Computer keyboards are an integral part of everyday computer use. Keyboards can be magnets for dust, crumbs, and other small particles that can get caught between the keys of the board and settle at the base. If your Compaq laptop keyboard isn't working the same, say you are experiencing issues with your keys sticking or not typing properly, its probably time to clean your keyboard. Using a few small tools, a bit of patience, and cleaning supplies, you can quickly and efficiently clean your Compaq Laptop keyboard and enhance performance.

How to Clean A Compaq Laptop Keyboard?

Shut down your computer system and unplug your laptop from its power source. Carefully turn the laptop upside down and press a couple of keys to release any large debris that may be caught between them.

Hold your can of compressed air firmly and position it 1 inch from the keyboard. Press the trigger to release the air and remove any debris that may be lingering around or under the keys.

Place a few drops of the isopropyl alcohol onto the end of your cotton swab. Use the swab to gently clean the sides of the keys on your keyboard.

Dampen your clean cloth with a small amount of warm water. Use this cloth to clean the top of your keyboard and the keys. Use swift, gentle strokes to wipe down the tops of the keys.

Plug your laptop back into its power source upon completion of the cleaning. Repeat steps 1 through 5 once a month or more as you deem necessary.
