One day after news broke that actress Nicollette Sheridan filed a $20 million lawsuit against " Desperate Housewives complete box set " creator Marc Cherry and ABC following an alleged violent incident -- a lawyer for the star speaks out to "The Insider."
Sheridan filed a lawsuit claiming Cherry struck her across the head and face in 2008 and then ultimately fired her from the hit ABC show after she reported the incident.
Sheridan's attorney's statement reads in its entirety:
"Nicollette worked very hard on the show and was a model employee. Mr. Cherry's behavior towards Nicollette was and is nothing short of abusive and appalling. The lawsuit is not something Nicollette wanted to do, Dollhouse on dvd, Grey's Anatomy 1-6 dvd, Robin Hood boxset, Brothers And Sisters dvd 1-4, That 70s Show box set, One Tree Hill on dvd, Babylon 5 dvd set, Will And Grace dvd series, it's something she felt compelled to do. Nicollette asked ABC for help and protection from Mr. Cherry's abusive behavior, and ultimately, ABC was not willing or able to provide that protection. Sometimes the only way that a safe and normal work environment can be created is when a hard-working person like Nicollette stands up for herself and her rights, and in doing so help protect others who have had to work in a hostile environment.
"We expect the case to be hard fought, Desperate Housewives 1-6 dvd, Desperate Housewives on dvd, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles dvds, Scrubs 1-8, Robin Hood 1-3, Dawson's Creek boxset, and it will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional. She put her heart and soul into the role of the Edie character, The Tudors complete seasons, Treme complete box set, Will And Grace seasons 1-8 dvd, Brothers And Sisters collection, That 70s Show dvd, Dollhouse dvd box set, a character that she truly enjoyed playing."
ABC told"The Insider"Monday, Frasier dvd series, Scrubs 1-8 dvd, "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, Veronica Mars dvd series, Nip Tuck boxset, Nip Tuck boxset, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit."

The 25-year-old singer is on trial accused of hitting dancer Sherene Flash in the eye after the fan asked to take her picture following a charity ball in September.
Prosecutors say it was a deliberate assault.

He said "the main injury here was probably to Miss Flash's pride."
Winehouse shot to stardom with the Grammy-winning album "Back to Black" in 2006, but her music has been overshadowed by reports of drug use, Grey's Anatomy on dvd, Monk box set, Mad Men on dvd, How I Met Your Mother seasons 1-5 dvd box set, run-ins with the law and a tempestuous marriage.
A verdict is expected later Friday.
